How the files arrive
The publisher distributes this template only through Overleaf: open it there, choose Download > Source, and upload the .zip into a new paper in Papers.
PNAS publishes its class (pnas-new.cls) only inside its Overleaf template, and pnas.org does not serve it to programs. Open the template on Overleaf, choose Download > Source (a free Overleaf account is enough) and upload that .zip here: every file comes with it.
Format
Through Overleaf: Download > Source there, upload the .zip here
The venue's own instructions are the rule: www.pnas.org/author-center/submitting-your-manuscript.
