How the files arrive
The class is part of TeX Live 2026, which Papers compiles with, so nothing is copied: your paper gets our starter files (main.tex and a refs.bib with one example citation).
The JMLR journal itself uses jmlr2e.sty, which is not in TeX Live; upload it with the journal's kit if you submit there.
